Paris, Sun or Moon?

I just found this photo I shot with my iPhone on the way to the airport when I was leaving Paris last week. It was an extremely grey, overcast morning and the sun or moon could be seen between the layers of clouds. It was so bright and you could see perfect edges, so I assumed it was the sun but it kept going in and out of view so I still don't know for sure. I think I like not knowing.

Moses Berkson's Photography in Departures Magazine

I met up with my friend Moses Berkson while he was in town from California. He shot the gorgeous cover story about Big Sur in the current issue of Departures magazine. We had a good time talking about cameras and shoes.

Locations

So far this week I've shot 2 stories for Womens Wear Daily. Yesterday we were outside in the chilly weather with a bright blue sky on location in Central Park and today could not have been more different, as we were inside a spartan white cyclorama at Industria Studio. Both days resulted in great but totally different images. Check back for the results of both shoots in the next couple days.

Happy Accident

I was printing some solid color swatches for a meeting when my little running-out-of-ink ink jet printer spit this out.

Movies about Photography: Eyes of Laura Mars

Faye Dunaway stars in this classic fashion film from 1978. The soundtrack is amazing and the opening lines of this trailer get right to the point: New York City, Fashion, Advertising and Photography. And with imagery inspired by and stills actually taken by Helmut Newton it couldn't get any better.

The London Hotel in NYC

Here's a shot of the super quick studio set up I did for a secret late night shoot in the London Hotel last night.
